I get asked all the time what the difference between a $300 pellet smoker and a $999 pellet smoker is.
Well think about it for a second. You get what you pay for, right?
How does the manufacture of the cheaper smoker get it to be so cheap?
I have found that components, and construction are how. The metal in the cheap smokers are thin and don’t hold heat well. I have even seen some instances where guys have added clamps to the lid to hold it shut. This is just the start. Warranties are not as good either.
I own a top of the line pellet grill, and it is very well constructed.
It has double wall insulation, high temper steel, and a solid warranty.
I guess you have to ask yourself, do you want a smoker that is going to last years, or one that is going to last a little while, and burn through pellets like crazy?
Never forget, you get what you pay for. If you have the money to buy a cheap smoker, save up a little longer and get one that will last!
I put together this quick video describing what to look for and what to avoid in a good smoker so check it out.
